Dr. Simone Xavier and Rene Xavier Filho, a scientist and engineer set on changing the beauty industry, launched Sigma Beauty with a single brush set and a lot of passion. They used social media to spread the word about our brand, science to create the highest-quality products and were inspired by you with each step along the way. They continue to lead the brand in developing improved beauty for you every day.

Q: What inspired you to launch the Sigma Beauty brand?

A: Sigma Beauty was inspired by 3 driving forces: quality, function and innovation. When we created the brand, we saw an opportunity to offer high-quality brushes at competitive prices. We also identified a need to put together a functional brush set that would allow you to achieve a full face of makeup with just that one set. It was an instant hit and we continue to create quality products unlike anything else in the industry to solve your everyday beauty problems.

Q: Why did you name the company Sigma Beauty? What does the name mean?

A: The capital Greek letter Sigma is a mathematical symbol that means ‘sum’ or ‘the addition of several variables’. With our background in science and engineering, we wanted a name that would summarize the core values of the company we created, the things that set us apart. Quality + Function + Innovation = Sigma Beauty.

Q: What Sigma Beauty problem-solving product are you most proud of?

A: It’s so hard to choose just one! All of our patented brushes, gadgets and designs. Sigma Beauty has been awarded more than 60 patents worldwide. These patents identify and protect our exclusive, most-innovative products.

Q: How does customer feedback influence your product development process?

A: You (our customer) are the basis of everything we do, especially when it comes to product development and improvement. The brush cleaning gadgets, for example, were created to improve brush washing using the palm of your hands. Through observing beauty consumers’ attitudes and behavior, we develop solutions. Then by listening to feedback, we improve our own products, which make them truly custom made to accommodate your needs.

Q: What has been most rewarding about founding and running Sigma Beauty?

A: Making a difference. We believe we’ve made substantial contributions to your life and the beauty industry with our products. We’re very proud of creating concepts that have become the ‘new norm’.
