Yes, it is a firm brush, however, you may prefer the E44 FIRM BLENDER BRUSH.

Can this be used with cream shadows like Mac paint pots?

The E39 Buff and Blend brush specializes in blending powder pigments, and will not work so well with creams. For the product mentioned, we highly recommend our E57 or E58 brush!
