Tell us about your background.

I was an artist from the time I was young, painting with watercolors and pencils. When I found makeup it was a natural progression which transitioned into a professional career. This allowed me to utilize my creativity, get instant gratification for my abilities and ultimately do what I love.

Who do you look up to for inspiration or mentorship?

I always look at the “great” artists like Kevyn Aucoin and Pat McGrath. The amount of respect and impact they have on the industry is amazing. I always want to inspire other artists and be respected like them.

What is the best advice you can give someone?

The best advice I can give is one that I wish I would have known sooner. Most of the negativity you deal with is from people who are insecure and intimidated by your strengths and abilities. Don’t let someone else’s inner demons diminish your shine.

How do you find inspiration?

I look at everything as inspiration. Whether it's an artist painting or another artist on social media, I love to be inspired by use of color and lighting!

What is your why? (i.e. Why do you do what you do?)

I have a passion for makeup that gets recharged every day, especially seeing a person's reaction in the mirror. To see a positive change in a person's confidence is the most humbling and gratifying experience. It’s like having a superpower.

What do you stand out for?

Authenticity. I always value my word and always do what I say!

What are 3 things you wish you knew when you first started?

  • Perfection is impossible.
  • Be 100%! Don't worry about fitting in.
  • There is only one you…invest in yourself.
